This Privacy Policy explains how RankTera ("RankTera", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data when you use the RankTera platform at app.ranktera.com and this website. RankTera is an SEO and generative-engine-optimisation platform that tracks your rankings on Google and on AI engines such as ChatGPT and Gemini, monitors AI-visibility and citations, performs keyword research, and generates and optimizes article content with AI.

1. Data we collect and why

• Account data — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. We use this to create and secure your account, authenticate you, and communicate with you about the service. We never store your password in plain text.
• Tracked domains and keywords — the websites, keywords, and markets you add for rank tracking and AI-visibility monitoring. We use this to run daily Google rank checks and periodic AI-engine citation scans and to display your results.
• Generated article content — the briefs, prompts, and articles you create or optimize with the AI Writer. We process this to produce and store your content and to power keyword research.
• Usage and billing records — plan, subscription status, invoices, feature usage, and log/diagnostic data. We use this to operate subscriptions, enforce plan limits, prevent abuse, and improve the service.

• Cloud hosting providers — to host the application, databases, and backups.

When we send prompts or content to AI engines, they process it to return a result. We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of RankTera and its users.
